Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was only five at the time, was able grown accustomed to being on the radar. At first, as a child model or actor, she won the part of Regan the demonized girl from amongst 600 applicants in The Exorcist, (1973). Linda won the Golden Globe and was on course to win an Academy Award. However, after the revelation the fact that Mercedes McCambridge had dubbed the demon voice, and that the 8 second scenes were performed by a stunt person she was left with a nightmare of having an A-list career fell flat. The following years saw she was able secure lead roles in an array of movies. This included the acclaimed film on television Born Innocent and Sarah T. (also known as Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic and Exorcist II - The Heretic. But when she was peer pressured into purchasing cocaine before the age of 18 it triggered an arrest and subsequent sentencing to three years of probation. The highly publicized drug bust resulted in Linda to be blacklisted by Hollywood and her acting film career soon slowed down to B-movies and occasional TV guest appearances.
